Sunset Magazine recently named Sandpoint “The best small town in the west” Many current residents originally came to visit the Sandpoint area and decided to move here to enjoy all the area has to offer on a daily basis.

*Lake Pend Oreille Facts:
At 1,150 ft. deep, it is the 13th deepest lake in the world.
• It is the 5th deepest lake in the United States.
• It is 42 miles long and has 143 miles of shoreline
• It was home to Farragut Naval Training Station located at the South end of the lake in Bayview, ID. Farragut was the second largest naval training facility in the world during WWII. Today it is a 4,000 acre State Park.
• The US Navy still operates an Acoustic Research facility in Bayview, ID performing deep water submarine acoustic testing, resulting in the finest stealth technology for submarines today.
